the online journal of mick posner, a guy who gave up being an English teacher to work as a bartender.

Random (3/2/03):

At the club where I work at, rum and coke is the most requested drink, although the most unique one I've gotten recently is an oatmeal cookie. $3 for the former and $6 for the latter.

Sometimes I wish I was a professional skateboarder. Just the other day, MTV Cribs was showing Dave Mira's house and the size of his home was just mindboggling... nice to be making all that money by riding on a wooden board supported by four plastic wheels.

It's almost 7 AM right now- going to get some sleep and then lift some weights in the afternoon. Other than that, I'm looking forward to spending the day with Rachel- something we haven't gotten the chance to do for a few days due to our hectic work schedules.

Tonight was a crazy night at the Pulse- the club was packed with people and if I really had a dollar for each time somebody requested a Long Island Iced Tea, I'd be vacationing in Bora Bora right now. Still, I made nearly $200 in tips from just working four hours, making me happier than pigs rolling in mud.

But at the very end of my shift, the money doesn't matter to me. The real reward is coming home to the apartment and seeing that Rachel waited up for me. We kick back by sharing a bowl of ice cream together as we catch up on news.
